bearing lash on Peugeot trans in jeep?

hi i need to know how tight to shim the bearings on the input to output shaft on a Peugeot 5 speed trans in a 89 jeep cherokee. i know people say not to bother fixing these but money is tight and used Peugeot parts cheap. i put one together too tight and it trashed the bearing between the input and output shaft. anyone know how tight its supposed to be? i asked a question about this trans poping out of gear before thanks everyone for the responses!
 
You may be able to find a pdf repair manual. I looked briefly but couldn't come up with one. I found one for my AX-15 after awhile of searching.
