Beginner wants a corn snake- needs help?...?

I really want a corn snake for my sixteenth. I really need help choosing a tank size. Please can you give me measurements in cm? I don't understand gallons and inches- Our South African systems don't work that way.

Do I get it a mate? Heating pad or not? Feeding tips?...
