best mecha game? all consoles availible.?

I want the best mecha (giant fighting robot game ect... like gundam if you need an ex.) I have the wii, 360, ps3. and an alienware comp so the console doesnt matter. What is the ABSOLUTE BEST! like best story, customizable everything, (if possible I'd like an rpg.. like you dont just follow a story line read, read, fight, read, you accually walk around n shit..) if you cant find that, still, what would be the no. 1 mecha videogame availible in 2009 ( today... not in 7 months..)
