Best way to get a 3 inch lift on my truck?

2002, F150, Supercab, 2WD, 4speed+OD.

What is the best way to lift this truck 3 inches?
I am assuming there is no torsion bar since it's 2WD (I haven't even gone out to check, but I'm almost positive It doesn't have it).
Should I use spacers? Or is there another method?
Also, can I do this myself with basic tools and a jack?
