i think there is something wrong with my betta! she is my second one. the first was given to my daugher as an "easy" fish to care for. easy to care for if you want him to die. he lasted six months and i got attached. so i went and bought a new female and started over. i realize that i don't have the perfect conditions for the fish, but this is the best i can afford now. i have a 1.5 gallon tank, with a new filter, heater, thermometer. i've conditioned the water and put bacteria supplement in it. she was fine the first day, swimming around. the second day she started hiding. i hoped it was because she was a little stressed with her new home. she was doing the same thing yesterday, so i did a 30% water change. she has a good appetite, and i'm not overfeeding her, but she does come out in search of food. i am very concerned. i don't want her to die, but don't know what to do. she doesn't really have any symptoms of anything that i can pinpoint. i'm read to change 100% every three days, then i see somewhere else 30%, and then once a week. very confusing. i cannot afford anything else. i wish i knew that i needed a 5 gallon aquarium, as if i did, i wouldn't have bought her, as i can't afford such a big investment and i care deeply for all creatures and their wellbeing. can anyone help me identify what is wrong and let me know what i can do? i've become attached to her already and would be so sad if she doesn't make it. thank you!!!!!!!!!!
