Birth control for vacation?

So, I'm heading to Mexico over the summer, and sadly, I think it's going to be the week I'm on my period. ): I've heard about taking birth control over vacation, and that it's perfectly safe to do! I'm 15 and not sexually active, any feedback or how to do this? What are the chances my doctor will prescribe some to me? Thanks!

I really don't think a dr is going to give you birth control pills just because you don't want to have a period on vacation.
