Blackberry bold 9000 refuses to turn on, pc cant recognize it?

Ive got a Blackberry Bold, it doesnt switch back on anymore and if i charge it then a red light shows (rarely). I even bought a new battery but the fault seems to come from the phone. I'm not on contract so there is no way that i could get it replaced.

What could the possible faults be? And how much would it cost to get it fixed in the UK?
