Blackberry Curve - New email notification?

I have the blackberry curve 8310 (att). I receive email from three email addresses.

One of the emails, yahoo, is not that important, how can I turn off the notification indicator for when I receive new emails?

basically I dont need to know when new mail arrives? Ive looked through the manual and cant seem to find anything.
