BlackBerry OS 5 in BlackBerry Curve 8520 Gemini?

I just bought BlackBerry Curve 8520 Gemini with BlackBerry OS 4.6 attached to it.
The shopkeeper suggest me not to upgrade it to OS 5 as it will make the device slower than ever. I don't know anything about BlackBerry, is he right? Or should I upgrade it anyway?

The 8520 is supposed to be shipped with os 5
i am using the 8520 with os 5 and its working very well
i would suggest that u upgrade to os 5 as its free
+ u can downgrade to 4.6 any time u want
