I am trying to replace the blower motor on my 2001 dodge caravan 3.3L but can't get it out. I have taken 5 screws out, 4 from the bottom and 1 from the top behind the glove box. I think I need to replace this because my resistor went out for the 2nd time. I have read some comments that it may be a diode. Any comments? Is there more than 5 screws?

i think there is only 5 on that one,it has a seal though that will stick and cause it to feel tight, break it free and turn the housing and it will come out, that would be the motor causing it to burn out resistors like that, look around the housing real close ,but i don't think there's any other screws holding it,they just seal tight and get stuck over the years, good luck.

The manual calls for removing the entire dash AND HVAC unit from the vehicle in order to remove the motor. You may be able to get it out without doing this, it might require cracking some plastic. Otherwise it is a huge job that requires discharging the A/C system. I have done them before like this, it takes a few hours.

Remember that the wire for the motor goes through a little rubber grommet and comes out of the HVAC housing, so make sure that you have that grommet popped into the housing and the wire connector disconnected. It has two wires.

Good luck!
