The Blu-ray discs are constantly being modified with who knows how many layers, and the capacity of the disc rising to 250 GB. I've read that such discs with multiple layers (more than 2, I guess) cannot be read by current disc readers, or writers.

So, does this mean that the PS3 wont be able to read such a disc, and should games be made on the multi-layer discs, it wouldn't be able to be read on current PS3s? I guess I answered my own question, but even so, do you think companies would make games on the disc?
250 GB, vs. the current 50 GB means games can be made even bigger, and better, but at the same time, longer to produce.. Metal Gear Solid 4 being 5 times better than it already is would be great.
I dont have a PS3 yet, but all in all, do you think I should wait for a version to read multi-layered discs, or even if something like that will even happen? A 250 GB PS3 game would be great though..
Sister has a 360, and Im waiting for some PS3 exclu., and dont like the 360

There is no word about Blu-ray increasing their capacity to 250 GB. Currently it only supports up to 50 GB and that is only for movies and bonus features. Even video games haven't even use up all that advance features on Blu-ray format.

As of this moment Blu-Ray in updating their software so that it supports version 2.0 for advance features such as picture and picture capability, true DTS-HD surrround sound which should be completed around October 2008. Current Blu-Ray dvd models on the market do not support these features and can not be updated. Only the PS3 can be updated. Newer Blu-Ray models will be coming around October of this year that will support version 2.0.

So if you wish to wait until then I would recommend a newer Blu-Ray dvd player otherwise you can always purchase a PS3 with the built in Blu-Ray player inside.
