I just purchased a 42" LCD TV and a HD DVD Player and I also have an XBOX 360. 2 HD DVDs came with the dvd player and I noticed that blockbuster sells Blu Ray dvds but not HD dvds. My quesiton is, exactly what is the difference between the two? Which is better? Can I play Blu Ray DVDS in my HD DVD player? Can I play Blu Ray as well as HD in my xbox 360 (my 360 is the elite so i have the HD cords for it)

any help and opinons would be great! thanks!

HD DVD and Blu Ray are similar to a dvd player but the difference is they use a different color laser normal dvds use red lasers this light is considerably bigger then the blue/violet used in blu ray and hd dvd. Blu Ray uses a laser even smaller then hd dvd so they are able to hold a lot more information so if you stuck blu ray discs into an hd dvd player its just like sticking a dvd into a cd player it just wont work. Your 360 cant play Blu Ray cause it wasnt designed for it the cheapest blu ray player would probably be a PS3
