Hi,

I have just bought a computer with a built in blu ray drive. the only problem is that i my 22" acer tft monitor does not have dvi or hdcp built in. will i still be able to watch blu ray movies on this?
i know the monitor will support the resolution but i have read somewhere that blu ray discs require a hdcp certifited hardware to be played on.

It will still play blue ray 1080 basically means it can run at a 6:9 resolution , implying a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels so anything under that resolution can run as well it just will not display as high quality as it should.

It will play them. Most monitors have got more than enough resolution to do HD.
