Blu ray ps3 only output at 1080p?

Hi Guys,

My Tv's the 32LG6000 HDTV.

Just a quick question.

Im if playing a blu-ray in my PS3 and i have just the 576p option ticked as the only hdmi output (i know 576p isnt hi-def) then will the blu-ray play in 576p, or automatically go to 1080p?

Its just that i couldnt notice hardly any differene between 1080p (my tv scales it down to 720p) or 576p, so im wondering if blu-ray can only be displayed in 1080p or 720p, not 576p.

Any ideas?

The output resolution of your PS3 will be scaled to the selected resolution. If you select 576p it will be output to 576p and most probably upscaled to 720p within the TV.

There is not a massive amount of difference in resolution between 576p(720x576pixels) and 720p(1280x720pixels) but the difference should be slightly noticeable.

Your TV is full 1080P compatible so why not display it at this resolution? after all you have payed alot of money to do so! I have a samsung 50" Full 1080p LCD and the pictures are stunning.
