BMW flooding and leaking unexpectedly???

when it rains on the driver side of the car the next day there is a puddle in the door in th plastic thing where you put items like cds... and things like books... i dont know where the leak came from can anybody help where it comes from because it leaves a puddle and it already ruined a lot of my cds and receipts could it be the black plastic seal that goes around the whole door or anything??? please help i need to fix this leak...
could it be a vapor barrier???
