Bought car that smells like Cigarettes; makes wife sick, help?!?

I bought a 'new to me' car {used} and the prior own smoked...Two questions.
1} The wife's throat burns from being inside of it, what should she do to make here throat better?

2} What is the best way to get rid of the smell...{shampoos, Sprays}

Try some Frebreeze spray If this doesn't work you can rent an idodizer from a company that deals with homes that have experienced fires etc. It will sure work.
