hey i want a dog that is kind to kids ,trains easily and a nice companion ..i thought about a boxer and i did like it...i also thought a american bulldog or a cane corso but i thought it is too harsh for the kids because they cant control this dog.so i thought the best is boxer.can you tell me something should i get a male or female..also does the boxer is fine with strangers.

A lot of people successfully have boxers with kids but I know of two cases where the puppy a family adopted was too dominant for their kids (kids were in the 7-9 year old range). In both cases, the families were experienced dog owners and were training the dogs and it still didn't work out. So I sort of consider boxers a mixed bag. If you go that route, find a reputable breeder and temperament test the pups to pick the most docile one in the litter. Also, from personal experience, boxers are definitely not one of the easier breeds to train. They tend to have a stubborn streak and it takes patience and consistency. They are smart and can learn but it takes time.

That said, I'd choose a boxer before an American bulldog and I'd never have a cane corso around kids period.

Boxers are wonderful, although a bit energetic while young. He/she may knock your kids down a few times, but all in good fun. :)
According to everyone else, males are the way to go. I wouldn't know this, as majority of Boxers I've met, were females. :)
They are WONDERFUL with everyone, including strangers. :)

P.S. Not true what the person said about the idea of getting a male, because you won't have to pay to alter them.....remember.....it takes two! An unaltered male can be hard to handle, if there's a female in heat that he can sense.

Get a boy boxer, the girls get wild. Trust me lol. Boxers are fine with strangers.

Boxers are great with kids (mostly males). Labradors are especially good with children.
