Mac osx Lion have been released for a couple of days, latest Apple Mac products will all be powered by Lion according to its official tech spec. Want to know the best feature of the “250+” present in Apple’s new OS X Lion? I hope you’ll forgive my hands for shaking as I type this, because the very notion of something this revolutionary has got me too excited to type. New features in Lion included:
1. LaunchPad–mimics the way you browse your iPhone’s Apps by simply listing them in a grid. The Launchpad can also be enhanced by adding directories so you can find anything you need in just a few clicks.
2. Full screen applications – Safari, Garage Band, iPhoto, and all standard Apple apps to be full screen
3. Mission control – A unified view of Expose, Spaces and widgets that can be accessed by a three-finger swipe
4. Mac App store – Taking the purchase of apps to another level with the App store built in to the Lion OS, customizable notifications and updates
5. Multi-touch gestures – Use the multi-touch gestures to dynamically and efficiently scroll, zoom, browse through Safari, photos and other files (no more back or forward buttons, just swipe)
6. TAP TO ZOOM-Tap to Zoom simply makes it easy to point your mouse at something, say, a paragraph of small-sized text on a newspaper site, tap on it with two fingers and read it up close. Just like you can’t actually read anything on your smartphone
7. VERSIONS-Adding to this auto-save experience, Versions records your documents on a regular basis as you write them and stores the changes made.
8. LION SERVER-OS X Server isn’t new at all, but instead of having to buy it separately, Lion has it built-in to make it more mainstream and available for the masses.
After installing Lion, there are some must-have apps to help your enjoy the happiness of Lion. Here is my list.
HandBrake -video conversion and dvd ripping.
iPod to Mac-Transfer/backup/copy files from ipod to Lion
PDF Converter for Mac – Convert PDF document to word, excel, powerpoint.
Microsoft Office -document editing, spreadsheet, presentation.
