Burning peice of paper flew into heating vent?

A small reciept caught on fire (long story) and flew into my heating vent (which is off). i poured water into the vent and my mother came and sucked the paper out of the vent...

is it safe in my room or is it not?

What were you trying to hide from mom???? lol. If you poured water in and your mom checked it out it will be okay if not I am sure your Mom would have called in a pro to look it over,go to sleep and check the batteries in your smoke detector.
