Battery flat, bump started ok but within a couple of miles various lights were coming on and off. Car soon stopped totally dead. Called out AA and he jump started no problem. Fitted new battery he had in van started and ran fine but when he checked the charge nothing apparently from alternator, said alternator failed need new one. Followed home to leave car but during journey no fault lights came on so I am wondering where the fault may lie, I assume that because the battery warning light did not come on there be be other issues. Charged the battery and seems ok.How does one check alternator output and before i shell out £150+ for a new alternator could it be anything else?</blockquote>
