Can a blu-ray movie be burned onto a dvd-r?

I have on my computer a complete folder that was extracted from a blu-ray disc here is how it is structured:
(Just imagine you are looking at this folder in windows explorer)

BDMV
-BACKUP
----CLIPINF
--------00000.clpi
----PLAYLIST
--------00000.mpls
----index.bdmv
----MovieObject.bdmv
-CLIPINF
----00000.clpi
-PLAYLIST
----00000.mpls
-STREAM
----00000.m2ts
-index.bdmv
-MovieObject.bdmv

This complete folder is 2.24Gb so it will easily fit onto a dvd-r

What I would like to do is burn these files to a dvd-r in a way that my blu-ray player recognizes it as a blu-ray movie
