I want to get my baby son christened in an outdoors ceremony and not within a church building.
Does anyone know if this has happened before in Ireland or is it a possibility at all..???
I do want the ceremony to be legitimate and not just a naming ceremony..
All answers greatly appreciated...Thanks

If you want your son to be baptised as a member of a Christian denomination, you need to follow the rules of that denomination. The main denominations in Dublin that baptise infants are the Catholic Church and the Church or Ireland, both of which expect babies to be baptised by a priest or a deacon in water that is blessed as part of the ceremony. There are no rules that this has to take place in a church, but that's where the facilities are.

If you are a member of a Christian denomination, ask your priest or minister. If you are not, what are you looking for in a Christening ceremony?

So you want a religious ceremony done your way. Because you are special.
