got into a argument with someone over this, and people give me your opinions...

How is it in any being lesbian if you're a girl and watch/read yaoi? That's... really stupid.
It's like calling a boy gay for watching yuri.

@queenie: Okay, yeah I forgot about girls who AREN'T straight and like yaoi lol. I never really met any boys who have liked yaoi but they're out there. Anyways, good points you have there. I agree with you (:
 
Hmmmm yes, for me I also like yuri but I am completely straight the thing for me is just that I like seeing love in all it's forms, I just think it is very sweet.
 
@Ayaii: Actually, I know more lesbians who read yaoi than straight girls. Though the majority of girls I know who read it are bi, like myself. I actually read an interview of two lesbians who draw yaoi and they say they like it because the men look so much like women that it's easy to imagine them as women. They went into more detail, but I can't remember it all right now. But basically, they like it for the same reasons straight guys like it (and yes, guys can like yaoi and still be straight). It's also possible that, since bi's and lesbians already feel outcast from society, they no longer feel the need to conform and so look at pr0n at their leisure. Why yaoi? Who knows. But I have noticed that these straight girls who hate/shy away from yaoi also seem to despise pr0n in general.

Anyway, yes, it is possible. I have at least three friends who are straight and like yaoi.
 
Same as a guy can like Lesbian porn and still be straight. For some it's the thrill of seeing a man/woman being pleased. For some it's the thought of "I wish I was there! Boy what I'd do!"

This assuming you're using "Yaoi" to mean "anime guy/guy sex" and not "boy-boy love" like it supposedly means.
