can a weak battery do this?

i have a killer aftermarket stereo system in my car.that includes a thousand watt amp and a 12 inch sub .when i first turn on the system it sounds awesome.but as i go it seems like the system loses it oomph.could it be that my battery is getting weak?i have noticed lately that when i try to start my car its not quick to respond/turns over kinda slow.my alternator is fine and all the wiring is good.
