Can anyone help me with T-Mobile 4G coverage?

When T-Mobile says they have 4G coverage does that mean the Phoenix Metro Area (and surrounding cities) or just Phoenix alone?

Cause I have a 4G phone and live in Avondale (Southwest of Phoenix) and could never get 4G speeds. But on T-Mobile they advertise and claim to have 4G throughout the Valley.

Btw-There is no coverage map. If there is one please advise me on where it is.

You can zoom all the way into street level to see if you're in a 4G coverage area at http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/pcc.aspx .
