...when not turned on)? Hi everyone,
Our internet browsing has mysteriously been markedly slower over the last 4-5 days, no matter what time you get on. Here's the weird thing: I tested our connection on a Speedtest.net and it reads what it should, and what it always has (around 5 Mbits/s). Bittorrent also runs at the same rate it always has, and it's not an issue with my computer because my dad is getting the same unexplained slow browsing on his desktop even though the speed reads normal.
I've been using Bittorrent a lot more lately, and was wondering if that could have anything to do with it somehow, even when it's turned off? (I exit Bittorrent completely to browse, and my dad doesn't have it)
There's no possibility that anything is being downloaded when I get on the web, because I right click Bittorrent and click exit before I get on (and it does exit). As far as nasties, I doubt it- I've run run McAffee, plus my sister is also home for break and the internet is doing the same thing for her- a virus would have had to have suddenly popped up on all 3 computers the same day...just seems a bit of a stretch
