Can bluetooth be used instead of a mic in voice chat such as chat rooms, online video games, etc.

you need a device to be connected to your computer. the technology is exactly designed to be used in such applications. however if you haven't bought it yet you might want to reconsider doing so. Blue tooth while promising, never hit the market with enough punch to become mainstream.

Yes they sell bluetooth mics for PCs. But you can't just use your cell phones bluetooth head set.
