Can church bells damage your ears?

ok so almost once in a month we ring the church bells. we spend about 15-20 minutes ringing them. we are exactly under the bells and they make a huge sound. you can't talk to someone as no one will hear you only sign language is used.

is this bad for your ears? how many decibels do church bells give?
it's only 20 minutes in a month, so is it still bad? also for the future?
