Can cruiser bikes go up and down hills?

I found a bike that I want, but it's just a cruiser. I won't do anything extreme, but can it go fast and go on hills?

They are not designed to be fast or climb steep hills they are for cruising. If you don't have steep hills you will be ok.

no it can;t go 'fast' except coasting
which isn;t safe b/c the brakes are usually @#$$%

you have to do that
there are hills that it and you can conquer but they will be much less steep or long than you could do with a decent geared bike
