Can Goldfish live in Tap water ?

I buying gold fish soon and i would like to know if they can live in water if no what would i have to do to make it ok for the fish. Thank you

Yes, I have had 6 large golfish living in tap water for 8 years now, and they are all alive and well. It depends if your water is good or not, the water in my area is good so thats why they are healthy. Always check, but if you are not sure, buy a water chemical to steralize it.
