I have a 50 gal tank with a pictus, bala shark, upside down cat, and a pleco. The pleco cleans the tank really fast of any algae that's growing ..and there isn't much growing to begin with.
Is it possible to add a small branch or piece of a log off the forest floor into the tank? What preparations would need to be made? (boiling it? bleaching it? etc)
I have a fishpond outside as well and tree debris is always falling into it and sinking .. so I assume that wood is a natural part of the habitat for freshwater fish.
