Can I buy a used Blackberry and use it with my existing AT&T Wireless plan?

My phone broke, and I've only got 4 months left on my contract, and I definitely do not want to return to AT&T Wireless, so I'm trying to get a cheap phone off of ebay until I can start a new contract.

I can buy a Blackberry 7280, and I'm wondering if I can just buy the phone and put my SIM card inside and use it without subscribing to the Blackberry plan or paying anything extra. Thanks.
