Can I buy a Verizon iphone and use it as T-Mobile?

We're using t-mobile right now (sadly the only one without an iPhone I know), anyway we wanna buy iPhones on ebay but it's for different coverage such as Verizon, or AT&T

I am not sure, but if the iphone is 4s then it can be verizon or at&t and run on tmobile. but if it's iphone 4 or 3s, only an At&T will work with tmobile. after unlocking it of course.

iphone 4 or 3s was either GSM (at&t) or CDMA (verizon) so tmobile which works on GSM will only work with unlocked GSM phone
