Your too young to be allowed any facility like that, also it affects your credit rating which is something that you can only mess with when you're 18 +, because credit companies won't touch anyone under 18 and strictly speaking even though you are not asking for a credit card, a debit card works much in the same way, which means you will get charged for spending over any amount of money in your account, which at 14/15 you really cannot afford. It isn't about where you bank, all banks and building societies run the same policy or rules. You could always ask your mum or dad to purchase a mastercard gift card for you to use wherever you like, it is a safer option.

Sod the Abbey.
Get yourself to Lloyds TSB. You get a good rate, and a VISA Debit card to go with your account.

No, but when you are 16 they will give you a visa electron..which you can use on the internet and in shops but at 14/15 no.
