Can I get a current smartphone without the internet and email pkg?

I want to get a smartphone in which I can sync both my schedule and microsoft office documents to my computer. Verizon said that you have to have the internet and email to get the smartphones. Any ideas or suggestions?

the reason verizon said that is because the phones don't work properly without the internet. i'd say if you want the phone pay the extra price

The short answer: There is no way to get around that. T-Mobile and AT&T do the same thing for those phones. Sucks. Verizon's package starts at $9.99 so if you can afford that extra $10 then just put it on. If not, then you will have to get a normal boring phone. ?
