[QUOTE="MPN63, post: 2590417, member: 880544"] ...with 26 spline clutch disk any where? I have an explorer which has a 26 spline disc and has a dual mass flywheel. I am finding it hard to get a replacement after the car came to a halt. I have been told by some dealers to shift from dual mass to single solid flywheel and that production of the original dual mass flywheel on it and its kit has beem discontinued. I got an offer at a clutch manufacturing plant at $695 for the conversion to the solid mass. This included 1. Solid Mass to replace dual mass flywheel 2. 26 spline Sprung disc 3. Traditional pressure plate (replaces self adjuster) 4. 6 bolts 5. Alignment tool 6 Pilot bearing The slave cylinder available from Ford part #1L2Z-7A508-AA will be changed as well. I contacted 2 ford dealers but they could not help me. They advice I check with aftermarket stores Can anyone help with suggestions on a. If this would work on the car b. confirm if he/she has had to change friom dual to solid c. direct me to where I can get the original part for this car. Vin of car is 1FMZU72E62ZB82178.
