Can I lay a thin layer of tar on a driveway to improve its appearance?

I know the cracks will come thru but I'm selling the house. House is mint except for the driveway.
Keep in mind a new driveway is about $10k.
It's blacktop/asphalt. Will a sealer fill in large cracks?

You could do more harm than good. If the driveway has cracked concrete, the tar won't do the trick and will just clump off, getting into people's cars wheel wells, etc.. You probably know that a thick coat of real asphalt is what is needed.

just buy a couple of 5 gallon buckets of asphalt sealer and a throw a way mop, you can do the job in a day but you can,t park on it for a day.

Some answers consider you have a concrete drive. Do You? If concrete NO. Asphalt Sealers spread on improves looks and protects surface considerably.

If you mean Seal-Coating, yes you can. My neighbor did that once every 2 years or so on her cement driveway and it looked & performed just fine.

Don't be a cheapskate. If you are simply trying to mask a problem it will come back and bite you in the azz. Would you like someone to do that to you?

NOt unless you want tar baby feet, there is blacktop sealant at home depot ago there and get some
