Can I put 215 65 R16 C tyres on a VW T5?

Our VW T5 has 205 65 R16 C tyres at the moment, we want to put on 215 65 R16 C winter tyres. Will they fit the wheels and will it be legal? I had a look in the manual, there it says the allowed tyres should be listed in the cars registration but I couldn't find anything there.
 
They will be a bigger diameter and so alter the gearing and the speedo readout.
Some insurers will consider it a notifable modification
