What type of 4th gen ipod is it? Touch or Classic Well there are two available programs that I trust. One actually has its own step by step on a website the other is similar and I use it more frequently because it is jailbroken ipod friendly. http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/downloads/list this is the link to Iphonebrowser you just download it, install, run it, connect the pod, and you will see your ipods folders. Now go to folder "itunes control"-> subfolder "music" ->click any of the folders then on the right window click on the first song and then scroll to the bottom and press shift key + click on the last song listed-> right click save as and save it to your folder of choosing. or http://www.imtoo.com/ipod-computer-transfer/how-to-transfer-songs-from-ipod-touch-to-computer.html It is similar but not as jailbroken ipod friendly it is specifically just to transfer purely songs. steps in the site provided. P.S When using the Iphonebrowser method you will see alot of songs named AUYC or some random 3-5 worded items. That is coded for Itunes and some other media players, as soon as you drag the songs into itunes or certain media players all the information will be transferred as it was fully intended to be shown. I guess you can call it "protocall" basically meaning a short way to abbreviate the information to conserve space and memory on your device.
