I had an iTouch, and ultimately it ended up being to small for me (8G). So after a lovely year together we parted ways and my old iTouch went to my dad, and I went to the Apple store for a 32G. Anyway, my dad has an iMac G5, and when he plugged in the iTouch nothing happened. Problem: Before handing it over to him I restored it...which also means it automatically updated the software. The new software only works on OS X 10.5 (Leopard). His computer will no longer update the system as, well, he has the previous operating system. So here are my two queries: Can he purchase and run Leopard despite not having an intel Mac? Is there a way to, say, remove the newest software from the iTouch and restore the original software (or at least an older software than the one that's on it now) so that he can use it? Otherwise we sort of just wasted $300... and that is no bueno. Also, if it is at all useful, the older iTouch is a second generation, purchased it right before the 3rd generation came out, thus have had it for a little over a year.
