it depends on what you are making....

if you are baking, try using wheat flower instead of white flour. If you are using it to coat say a pizza pan, try cornmeal. Corn starch is also a good option if you're trying to thicken soup or stew.

I know your trying to not use flour or flour base, but one time when I was making some chili and I needed to thicken up the broth I had no flour in the house, I used pancake mix...worked well.

Depends what your cooking i would say no but i remember Delia Smith making a cake with just cocoa powder but that won't work in a pie !!!!

well it depends on what u are making but probably not flour is not like a spice its important u have that in most things that require that

This depends on what recipe you are working from. Sometimes flour can be replaced, sometimes it cannot.

If, for instance, you are using flour to thicken a dish, you could substitute something like a cream, a paste, a sauce, etc - but it depends on what you're making.

If you're frying with it, you could substitute a wide variety of things such as bread crumbs, cracker crumbs, cornmeal, etc.

If you're baking a cake or pastry, you probably need to stick with flour. Some substitutes may be possible, but you'd want to find a guide with conversions, or ask about the particular meal you're making, so we can specify.

You definitely need to give more information on what types of things you are trying to make. Yes, in many cases there are substitutes, but, not always. And tell us why you're trying to avoid flour. Is there an allergy to wheat or are you just out of it?

Not really in too many recipes, only for breading or thickening, mostly...not bread or cakes or pie crust!
