I went to this new barber which I've been getting my haircut for a couple of months now. I really like the way he cuts my hair and I've always tipped him big. The last time I went he refused to cut my hair, he finally came clean and told me he didn't want to cut my hair because he didn't want to infect his equipment, he was afraid he may pop a pimple and that would infect me and his equipment somehow. Thing is I've always had acne on my scalp for many years now and he's the only barber who has refused me service. It was really embarassing and humiliating. He said no barber would cut my hair with the amount of acne I had, he told me I should just let my hair grow out.
It's embarrassing to begin with, but I've always tipped my barbers big for cutting my hair because I'm sure they'd rather not. But it's even more humiliating to have one call you out on a condition that you have no control over, I feel like my civil rights have been violated somehow. I know the whole "right to refuse service to anyone" but how does that apply to someone who hasn't done anything wrong?
