i have 2 pioneer avic n3. one of them the screen doesn't flip up and function right when you pressed the button but plays cds dvds etc. the other one flips up and functions right but then it doesn't play cds dvds etc. i was wondering if i were to take off the ribbon off cable from both of them would it work and if so, how can i take off the ribbon cable? there seems to be some kind of glue that is keeping it from coming off easy. i just don't want to mess it up so do you guys have any suggestions? use a razor i would assume? please answer only if you know the answer cause this is some expensive electronics and i do not have the $200(x2) to pay pioneer to fix it. i am pretty much electronic incline but after i opened the in-dash and it was stuck by the ribbon so i didn't want to mess it up. thanks in advance! web links would be awesome.
Its not solder to the board. Its more like it was glued so that the ribbon wouldn't move so much and crack. But it has end fittings that connects to a board. Just trying to figure out if I remove the ribbon from the glue will it stay in put after changing it out ore what can I use to make it stay put?
