Can I upgrade my nextel phone to a sprint phone when I'm on a nextel plan?
You can upgrade your phone to a CDMA only phone but you will lose your direct connect service, or you can use a PowerSource (or hybrid) phone wich use both networks cdma for calls and iden for direct connect, Signal are better than nextel only phones but are as ugly as nextel ones. They have other type of phones wich are called DCS or Direct Connect on Sprint, phones are nicer than powersource or nextel but I dont know how these ones work, the only thing I know is that you can use the direct connect services and voice calls using cdma towers. These are the models I found for these ones, but services are restricted for some areas, check the info on the sprnit website to check services are available in your area http://www.sprint.com/landings/hpptt_availability/index.html Pro-200 by Sanyo® Pro-700 by Sanyo® LX400 by LG® Z400 by Samsung®
