Can I walk into a new car dealership and buy a new car with my credit card?

Is it possible to go to a dealership and purchase a new car with my amercian express card? I have more than enough credit. Or is it possible to buy it cash?
 
yes, but if you put it on Amex, you will pay more for the car. Businesses have to pay the credit card company a percentage in order to accept the card. I *think* AmEx is 3% - which they will gladly pass on as an expense to you - or just not discount the car as much
 
sure is, but why would you pay such an outrageous amount of interest through a credit card instead of financing it through a bank?
