'conflict of interests'? I am working at both Aeropostale and Forever 21. Forever 21 didn't mind my other job, but Aeropostale said that working for any other clothing retailer is a "conflict of interests" and I had to quit one or the other.

Aside from the fact that I desperately need both jobs, I think it's horrible to quit without working out your schedule (three days at Aero, two weeks at Forever).

My question is, if I lie to Aero and say I quit Forever, is it possible for Aero to find out?

Sure, anything's possible. What if someone from Aeropostale happened to walk in while you're working at Forever 21?

unless you are in the management level, i don't see why this is a conflict of interest. anyway, if you need both jobs, i say keep them both. lie to aero if you have to. but wait, are the 2 stores in the same mall?

maybe some of your co-workers would tell on you. not good. very risky.

but if the 2 stores are not in the same location, yeah go for it. keep both jobs!

My advice... lying to an employer is NEVER good. As for a conflict of interest, i don't think they'd be on solid grounds to dismiss you, due to the fact that aeropostal is namely a clothing store whereas i would consider forever to be more of an accessory store. And conflict of interest generally should only be imposed on manager+ people. I mean burger king wouldn't fire you for working at mcdonalds too... unless you were a manager at both maybe.

As for your question... no they cannot ethically check for multiple employment as long as you do not lie on a formal document you are fine.
