Can my mom co-sign on a car with me even though I live in FL and she lives in CA?

I have $3000 cash. I dont really know what price range in vehicles I should be looking at. Will they finance a car if I put down $3000 and the car is listed at $5000? Or do I need to find something more expensive? Will they let my mom co-sign even though we live in different states? What do I tell the dealer?
 
You might need to find something a little more expensive. Some finance companies wont finance such a low loan. Yes your mom can co-sign for you, but she has to be present when you buy the car to sign the papers as a co-signer
