can ripped BLU-RAY movies be played on my computer?

My friend has a blu-ray movie that i'd like to watch at home but I don't have a blu-ray dvd player or a computer blu-ray disc drive.

Can a ripped blu-ray movie be played on my computer? That is, put the files on my computer and play them? Or do i need some special hard/soft-ware to view it?

yes there are ways to do anything with computers now adays. you must have some sort of decoder or player that will allow you to watch it though. but in order to get it on your hard drive you would need some sort of a blu-ray disk drive. external or internal.
