Can someone decipher this dating situation for me, I am a dating newbie! (lol)?

I've been with my ex since I was 19 and I just started dating again (I'm 27) so forgive me if I sound like a teenager, but this is a little annoying. I have dated a few guys since my breakup, all were losers except one. I went on two dates with this guy in two days. One day was just lunch, nothing special but we had (or I thought we had) a really great connection. We talked and laughed and just really got along. Next night we went for drinks, and ended up closing the bar at 2 and making out and cuddling in the parking lot until 4(am). Again, our connection was really great. He texted me when he got home and said we would do something on tues. (this was sunday) I texted him and he said he was going to a game later so it would be better to do something later. Then later he said it would be better to do something thurs. Then thursday I got nothing, no contact. On Saturday I texted him asking him how his weekend was, and he hasnt texted me back. So obviously I'm getting blown off...My question is, why would he continue to call and make plans if he knew he was going to break them and blow me off anyway? I'm not heartbroken by any means but it's just a little frustrating to be ignored, and for someone to make plans and then break them...Any advice?

yeah that does sound confusing :S
maybe he had good intentions when arranging meetings but thought after cancelling you would be annoyed and not want to see him?
either that or hes an arse :/
text him- as like a final chance, and if its no reply or not good enough find someone who deserves your attention
