be doomsday? I'm not talking about ancient civilizations here. I just want to know the simple explanation in space.
 
The simplest explanation is, because that rumour has made some people rich, and they have an interest in keeping it going.

Without that, there'd be no such rumour because no such thing is happening. It's ALL fake.

Well from what i think or heards these old people had this calender and it was said that 2012 was the end of the worlds buts its prob not true ^^
